House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., told fellow lawmakers to “keep your schedule flexible” and “not to leave town” as GOP leaders try to pass President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act by July 4, reported Politico.
Trump told Senate Republicans the same day that they should lock themselves in a room if necessary to work out their differences and pass the bill.
“To my friends in the Senate, lock yourself in a room if you must, don’t go home, and GET THE DEAL DONE THIS WEEK,” Trump posted on Truth Social while on his way to the NATO summit.
