President Donald Trump is “frustrated” with Israel’s expanding assault on Gaza and has told aides he wants Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to wrap it up and end the war, Axios reported Tuesday.

Trump is not applying pressure to Netanyahu, and Axios quoted a White House official that Monday’s report of Trump’s threat to abandon Israel is not true. However, there is a growing divide on policy between the U.S. and Israel, according to the report.

“The president is frustrated about what is happening in Gaza. He wants the war to end; he wants the hostages to come home; he wants aid to go in; and he wants to start rebuilding Gaza,” one White House official told Axios.
