Underscoring the visible presence of National Guard troops now patrolling Washington, D.C., streets, a car has crashed with a Guard military vehicle, causing only minor injuries.

“Capitol Hill: A national guard military vehicle got into a crash with a car at 8th and North Carolina Ave SE,” a reporter posted to X on Wednesday morning. “One person had to be rescued and taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to DC fire.”

The crash comes amid President Donald Trump’s federal deployment to the capital with the assist of the Guard units from several states in a crime-fighting crackdown.
