Niki Lee Ethington, a nurse who has never sought office, is the sole candidate so far to file as a primary challenger to Rep. Thomas Massie in Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District.

Her candidacy comes on the heels of a just-released poll conducted by Trump pollster John McLaughlin and reported by Axios that shows 52% of 4th District GOP voters said they would support a Trump-endorsed candidate over Massie and only 23% said they support Massie.

Moreover, President Donald Trump recently vowed to defeat Massie in the GOP primary next year and launched a political action committee to fund Trump-supportive candidates in the race. So far, MAGA Kentucky has raised $500 million and just launched its first attack on the six-term incumbent who opposed Trump on his “Big, Beautiful Bill” and was critical of the U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
