Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot and was diagnosed with May-Thurner syndrome, the Republican announced, the New York Post reported on Wednesday.
Boebert went to the hospital after she had major swelling in her upper left leg and underwent a CT scan, where “doctors found an acute blood clot and diagnosed her with May-Thurner Syndrome, which is a rare condition that disrupts blood flow,” according to a Facebook statement from her campaign.
Doctors performed surgery on Boebert on Tuesday to remove the blood clot and add a stent in order to restore the flow of blood by opening up the blocked vein.
