House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan has said he’ll look into a call from William Pulte, the director of U.S. Federal Housing and chairman of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, to investigate Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, according to a report Wednesday afternoon.
Bloomberg News’ Erik Wasson, reporting on X, said that the Ohio Republican said he will “look at” Pulte’s call for a probe.
Wednesday, Pulte issued a statement calling on Congress to investigate the Fed chair, accusing him of lying about renovations that were made in the office’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.
