As people around the country celebrated the birth of our nation on July 4, south central Texas was hit by a devastating flood claiming over 130 lives, many of which were children.

In the aftermath of this tragedy, people from around the country have found ways to assist impacted communities.

Some have traveled to help search for those missing or to bring needed supplies.
